2026
Invited by Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain as part of their open studio weekend, Sieste Ensemble was asked to imagine an event for children and families. We unrolled a 40-meter drawing bandage across the space, designed to be colored collectively during the live performances. Woven into the bandage was a system allowing Alexis Delong to modulate sound in real time based on the movements and gestures of those coloring, making the kids an active part of his performance.

Alongside, Mariam Poussin performed a live set of qanun, a plucked string instrument originating from the Middle East and North Africa, here explored through an electronic and contemporary lens. Trente performed live alongside Pi Ja Ma, who led a participatory drawing workshop with the kids.

The works of Colombian artist Carlota Sandoval Lizarralde were shown throughout the space. For this occasion, she presented a selection of her oil pastel drawings, lush and saturated landscapes that layer memories of Colombia with questions of migration, belonging and plural identity, navigated through a deeply personal and diasporic practice.
